Day One

OOC Post, not a diary entry. Info can't be used in play except for Isa! (yes, I have to write this apparently! ;D )

Continued from Abduction/Introduction....

Isa knew within moments that she was gonna like this kid, whoever she was. Some people just have that vibe about them. The girl motioned her to sit a little closer and Isa drew her tray along as she scoot down the bench seat toward them.

"Name's Ayashe. Jerks here call me Warpaint because they're a bunch of racist assholes." The girl grinned and motioned to the others at the table. "This is Scepter, Halo, and Lightfox." Introducing the other kids she was talking to from left to right, Scepter was a boy around Isa's age that was tall and pale with light blonde hair and violet colored eyes. Halo was a younger girl with white hair, dark skin and equally dark eyes. Lightfox, compared to the other two, looked quite normal. She had auburn hair and freckles and seemed to take in every word and digest it slowly before responding. "What's your name, princess?"

Isa wrinkled her nose, she never liked being called princess... but it felt oddly familiar. Actually Ayashe felt oddly familiar. "Uhm.. Isa. I'm Isa. Don't call me princess. Princesses always need saving." She smirked. "Why is warpaint racist?"

"I wouldn't tell them what my name was when I got here so they gave me the cheesiest redskin knock off indian name they could come up with."

"Oh! Ha! I guess that is racist." She glanced at the others, "Did they give you all your names or are those your birth names?" Isa was still in a slight fog. She felt like there was something missing.. something she was supposed to be doing.. but she also felt an uncontrollable need to be exactly where she was. Another announcement rang out over the loudspeaker. Something that seemed unimportant to her so she just waited for it to end before continuing their conversation.

"You earn it." Scepter piped up, he was kind of cute in a weird way. "You'll get one, too. After class probably."

Isa's eyebrows knit together, "Class?"

"Yeah, it starts in like an hour so you got time to eat and change." The other kids didn't seem to notice that Isa didn't know she was supposed to be taking a class in the first place. Then suddenly Isa felt like.. she did. She did know. That's why she was here. Her parents sent her to this boarding school because she was a kid with special abilities and this school would help her develop them and she would be with kids that also had powers.

"Oh yeah, duh." She smirked and shook her head. "Sorry, guess I'm still kinda jetlagged from the trip."

After breakfast, Warpaint walked back to the cabin with Isa and explained that they usually don't share cabins but since they didn't have enough open she was okay with sharing with her because she seemed 'cool'. They grabbed their clothes and went to the bath house to shower and change. Isa liked her clothes, but they felt new... New school shopping, maybe? Their first class of the day was interesting. It was centered on the science of genetic mutations but visited multiple topics and areas of science related to supernatural abilities. Students were given free range to use their powers and discuss them. Isa met more kids with fun nicknames and cool superpowers and at the end of class their 'hip' teacher Isa was ready to christen her with her own. "Incite?" A few of the other kids chuckled as Isa quirked a brow, "Why?"

The tall, nerdy teacher in the lab coat with the wild curls grinned as he raised his hands to emphasize his explanation, "You awaken! You inspire! You animate! You.. INCITE.. your target." He was a bit wild in his justification, gesturing toward Isa with wild eyes. "You know," he moved closer to her and leaned in, towering a bit, "I bet.. you could cause an earthquake that would destroy this entire compound. I BET.. that you could make this entire school your personal playground! You could animate every piece of furniture, every bit of fabric, every little thing to the very. last. detail. to do exactly.. what you want it to do." He pat her on the head gently. "When.. you're strong enough. You can incite... armies."

Isa watched as this nutty professor went on a rant about why he chose this nickname for her. Halfway through she glanced to Warpaint with a raised eyebrow and a smirk, then turned her attention back to the man. His words, though silly at first, began to make her feel a sense of pride in her abilities.. made her feel... comfortable and welcome. And soon enough the other kids were slapping her on the shoulder, "Incite! Yeah that's pretty dope!", "Bad ass!", "Remind me to never piss you off, Incite!"

Hours passed, a few more classes were in along with a few more meals and announcements over the loudspeaker that Isa didn't pay attention to. Her first day had gone swimmingly! So much so that she'd almost lost that feeling that she was forgetting something important. Now she was back in the cabin with Warpaint. Her hammock had been replaced with an actual bed at some point throughout the day and the one room living space was split into a shared bedroom. Warpaint went on a mini rampage about the brutes fucking with her paintings, but none of them were harmed so the rant didn't last long. Eventually, the two girls would sit across from each other on their respective beds and swap stories.

"So yeah.. after all that they brought me here and I was like eh.. guess it's cool.. and I decided to stay," she shrugged.

Isa nodded and as her body grew more and more weary her mind started to get restless. She glanced over at the door. "You ever feel like there's something you're supposed to be doing but you're kind of stuck here?"

Warpaint narrowed her dark eyes and tilted her head, "...yeah. But.. I know why." She glanced at a large canvas over in the corner that was covered by a grey blanket. "I'm meant for bigger and better things. I'm just here for now.."

Isa watched her and glanced over at the covered canvas as well. "...I think I'm gonna go for a walk, I need to clear my head," rising from her bed, she slipped her boots on.

"Don't go past the parameter, the guards haaate that." Warpaint smirked, then pulled the blankets up over her legs and laid down.

As she walked the path along the cute little cabins in the impeccably kept grounds, Isa's restlessness grew. Something felt off.. something felt.. missing. She wanted to talk to someone she knew... but she didn't know anyone here more than her new roommate! She wanted to talk to her parents.. her uncle, maybe? But she had no way to reach them. And there were names and thoughts of others that were at the tip of her tongue but not fully formed..she began to panic inside. Why? Why does this school need posted guards? Isa blinked a few times as she walked past one of the men wearing grey BDUs and bearing an assault rifle with other interesting looking gadgets and things strapped to him... and how did she know exactly what kind of gun it was? and how to take it apart, clean it and put it back together? She didn't remember her parents teaching her that...

"Excuse me, sir, but why are there so many guards? Are we in danger?" She asked. The guard said nothing. "...are you like.. not supposed to talk to me?" ...she asked with a little more attitude. "...or is the gun for me? If I try to leave will you shoot me?" She arched an eyebrow and started tiptoeing toward the gate enthusiastically to try and get a reaction from the guard. He looked at her, but said nothing. "..kaayy.. I'm gonna go out... get some tacooos....." and as she reached for the gate, there was a swishing sound of movement before everything went black.
