Gloria Juliana Lopez Cantaria
Gloria was born in San Antonio, TX. Her parents migrated from Mexico before she was born and she lived a pretty mundane life until her mutant abilities developed as a young teen. She'd just been asked to accompany her crush to a school dance.. when she walked away, she felt so full of joy and so light on her feet. She even felt taller! And then she realized she was in fact floating. Gloria could fly.
Jorge Ernesto Cantaria
Jorge was born in Austin, TX. Also a 2nd generation Mexican American. He was the bad boy musician, the wrong side of the tracks boy. The one with a heart of gold but a criminal background. When his powers developed, the ability to phase through objects, he used them to become a better thief and eventually joined the Morelez gang.
Together
Gloria and Jorge met through mutual friends at a party. The young mutants in Texas had a small underground clique mostly facilitated by the gangs, but good kids who were looking for a place to fit in found themselves mixing with the bad apples from time to time. It wasn't an instant connection. They were attracted to each other but Gloria had a boyfriend, so they became friends. Eventually Gloria fell into the party girl lifestyle, seduced by the freedom and excitement it promised. She never joined the Morelez gang but she knew enough about it. Eventually the two fell in love and that's when Jorge decided it was time for a change. A few years later Gloria was pregnant and the two had moved to El Paso to get married and try to live a normal life.
